When one thinks of ayurveda india is the place that rushes to the mind. 'Ayurveda' and 'India' - two words that go hand in hand because of the fact that this medical science took its roots in India, the ancient land, home to diverse cultural and commercial wealth. Ayurveda developed in India during the ancient Vedic period about 5000 years ago. The Rishis of the Vedic era had described about the treatment methods and medicines of Ayurveda through their hymns and chants. The texts and literatures known as the Vedas, especially the Atharva Veda, provide reference to the hymns related to Ayurvedic medicine system.

India is the treasure house of various valuable flora and fauna, minerals and oils which are of atmost importance in the preparation of Ayurvedic medicines and drugs.
