Only three types of Gerber Baby Food "work":

Gerber Strained Carrots
Gerber Strained Peas
Gerber Stewed Prunes

All the other flavors are woo-woo alternatives. They taste like placebo crap and don't do anything.

Did you ever hear of "Adult Diapers"? When we were young, we'd just pee in our pants! Waterproof magic pants? What superstitious fooey!

That's my impersonation of skeptics.

And that sounds like you are a person who sterotypes.
I'm not old (45), I'm not grumpy (I feel I have a good sense of humor), I'm not narrow-minded, and I relish change. As for the baby comment, I believe that is an immature way to view someone. IMHO

If I were to give my personal overall sterotype a skeptic, my definition would not be as nice as Kevin Kane put it.

Of course that's a sterotype and I hate sterotypes as we are all individuals with individual traits.

What drives the skeptical? Thought conservation. Thinking is hard, repeating propaganda is easy.

Skepticism ----- Doubtful Thinking.

skeptic vs truther only exists on the internet..

ive only met one person in real life who was a "debunker" the rest of the people ive talked to about 9/11 since 2005 either say it was an inside job...or say it probably was.

so this hole epic battle of debunkers/skeptics/truthers...WHATEVER... only exists on internet forums.

It must be the people one hangs out with. I've never talked to anyone who thought it either "was" or "probable was" an inside job except on the internet. In fact, I didn't even know there WERE people out there that even thought for a second it was an inside job until I joined this forum a while back.

We know what skeptics do. They cast doubt.

Raise suspicions, question credibilty, create mistrust, point fingers, to malign, to demean and slander.

To cast doubt like setting off smoke bombs of obfuscation .. to hide behind. To hide the real problems, the real dangers, the real frauds.

Skeptic Action Alert!
Some gypsy woman in Newark is making money reading Tarot cards. She even has a crystal ball and a black cat and some love potions, fer chrissake! She's obviously a fraud. We have nothing better to do than to call her a fraud. Look at the paranormal fraud. She must be making .. hundreds or thousands of dollars committing fraud. We must stop her from committing fraud. We must discredit and ridicule her. We are .. skeptical of her.

Puff! Doubt is cast. Real fraud is ignored.

We cast doubt...as opposed to what?...Believing what everyone says at face value without question?

It appears to me, Kevin, that you have had some bad experiences with skeptics. Unfortunately, I cannot apologize for those people, but even with my skeptical methods who often believe much of the same things, I find myself shying away from them. I am sad that people who consider themselves skepics create a harsh atmosphere as it is a turn-off to educational debate. I've seen how some skeptics can ridicule non-skeptics and understand what you mean. However, just for the same of argument, can you honestly say you haven't "pointed fingers," been "demeaning," or "slanderous," since you've been on this board? I don't believe that it is just the skeptics, but people in general who have pride in their personal beliefs often go abit overboard in their finger-pointing.

Skeptics regard the paranormal with the presumption that it's all some form of stage magic, some parlor trick or fraud.

That's not science. That's not an objective scientific position. That's a bias .. an agenda. And while we all may guess as to what their bias or agenda is, it seems obvious to me that they've dedicated themselves to debunking the paranormal. That's what is driving them.

Perhaps some internal need to prove that magic isn't real. Some fear that it may be real, so they need to debunk it, to comfort themselves that there are no monsters hiding under the bed.

I am not! But your description sure does describe my lifestyle.

That's pretty much the general attitude toward us tarot reading, black cat owners.

Puff! Doubt is cast. Real fraud is ignored.

In every walk of life, you will find people who are capable of perpetrating fraud. It's hard to get the skeptics to realize the difference between the paranormal interests and rip off artists.

We actually have a fortune-teller not far from where I live. Very peaceful place. Everyone who visits seems to be happy and at peace. The effect on the neighborhood is also good, people are better behaved, not like the bars. The city should pay them for their service.

i love knowing this kind of stuff
and dude i can blow you mind with the stuff i can fake
no need of supernatural explanations
