Great full length science fiction classics on YouTube

Postby Scepcop » 29 Jul 2010, 13:39

Here are some full length science fiction classics you can watch on YouTube.

Logans Run

The Time Machine

Robinson Crusoe on Mars

The Forbidden Planet (starring Leslie Nielsen, look how young he was!)

The Blob (with Steve McQueen)

I've been watching the Logan's Run TV series, and the episodes have been great, very imaginative and contain deep themes about our society. I'd recommend you all check them out. All 14 episodes of the series are on YouTube. Here is episode one:

The "domed city" in the series reflects what our society is turning into, in many ways.

Here is another interesting film called "Return to Oz", the sequel to "The Wizard of Oz". It's almost forgotten by now, by every review of it I've read was very positive and said it was a wonderful film. If you want to see it, here is the whole movie on YouTube:

I haven't seen it yet, but I will soon.
“Devotion to the truth is the hallmark of morality; there is no greater, nobler, more heroic form of devotion than the act of a man who assumes the responsibility of thinking.” - Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

The Blog (with Steve McQueen)

LOLOLOLOL. Great typo. "The Blob" is/was one of my favorite movies of yesteryear. I used to be able to recite almost the entire movie while watching it. This movie is truly a classic and a good watch.

I also like "The Thing With Two Heads" with Ray Millan and Rosie Grier. Probably not PC by today standards but it's a classic.
