But for this to be a useful exercise we need to first establish that we are correctly interpreting how the other side views things. I'm not sure that's been done here.

Why would I want to change my worldview to a strawman worldview? I won't really understand the other side, I'll just think I do.

I know I seem like I have a stick up my ass in this thread (maybe I always seem that way? ) but I think part of the problem is that people have a view of the other side that is incorrect, which leads to a lot of the conflict we see around here. That was the theme of my blog post I linked to in the US vs. Them thread.

Well, the only other member showing any interest doesn't seem to be able to get out of the left side of his brain and understand that you only learn some things by doing.
