And people wonder why I'm so against psychics. People like that just piss me off. When a psychic really solves a case, then I'll sit up and take notice, but until then, my opinion probably won't change.

It's not up to psychics to "solve" a case, that's the job of the police. There are, however, a number of stories where psychics have come in on cases and known things they couldn't or shouldn't have known -- the Etta Smith example in the video and film thread would be one of those. If it is genuine, it's an extraordinary example of a psychic aiding in the resolution of a case.

It's a pity that there are so many scammers and know-it-all busybodies out there.

I'm curious as to if this woman was one of the 'vultures' that contacted the family or if the news reporters just picked her randomly? They don't say how she was chosen or why. I also wonder if she was the first or only person they chose and if they had possibly contacted others who, for whatever reason(s) wouldn't or didn't take the bait.

Now don't think that I'm implying that my thought process here is, 'they didn't pick a good psychic'. I merely would like to know more about the circumstances behind this exposure. I find it odd, since they had the perfect opportunity to do a full blown series on this sort of thing, that they didn't have more of the same examples. We all know that there is a bumper crop of these types out there, so why only highlight one? They really fell short on this particular story, all the way around.

I've not yet looked over this material in that I already know what it's going to say -- I'm all too familiar with the bias. Not just the over-all bias of today's elitists minded "Thinkers" (which the production team of this show is lousy with -- no balance whatsoever -- kind of like FOX NEWS)

Where's the reports by these teams, on the psychic revelations that have lead to the resolution of a crime situation?

Don't say they don't exist -- THEY DO! The problem is, law enforcement officials are heavily discouraged to even mention on any official document that a psychic is involved; it's akin to the FAA discouraging pilots to post UFO reports and how NASA tries to force astronauts to not talk about the ET encounters they have (fortunately a few have spoken up though, while in a carefully framed manner). The tradition of side-stepping in this manner is centuries old and stems originally from the Church & Witch Hunting laws, the advent of the Spiritualist movement in the 19th & early 20th centuries revived this kind segregationist thinking; keeping distance "just in case" and in the process, allowing things to become skewed against the mystical.

I have personally helped locate stolen cars (and indirectly, lead authorities to a stolen car ring) and had limited success with psychometric type connection with it comes to missing pets and at least one person (who actually just ran away from home with a new lover).

I may eventually watch the episode (I deliberately changed channels the other night, out of disgust) . . . I'm trying very hard to leave that crap on a shelf far away from me rather than wasting my energy with it (I just get too worked up over the persecution -- being tossed into a negative light because of the actions of a few -- the only one's that get "outed".)

Cops love to go after the soft-targets, rarely going after the real criminals they know are out there; Skeptics are the same way, they will look at the easy (obvious) jokes and "expose" them but most of them haven't the brass to deal with the really dangerous con-artist let alone giving credit where it is due, as Harry Kellar, Houdini and even Joe Dunninger were known to do. "Proof" in my book, that current era skepticism has lost its way. . . its once known cuthe and decorum -- everything is now an "All or Nothing" mind-set which is simply wrong to me; immoral and of questionable ethics when it comes to the every man's world.
