Around boards who discuss psi, a proponent is generally someone who believes in psi. It's generally used as opposite to a skeptic. While they are not quite opposites then tend to serve for gneral divisions of the basic groups.

My reason being that I can't speak for cecil1 but I certainly have no qualms responding as a general proponent.
