If I were to give my personal overall sterotype a skeptic, my definition would not be as nice as Kevin Kane put it.

Of course that's a sterotype and I hate sterotypes as we are all individuals with individual traits.

ive only met one person in real life who was a "debunker" the rest of the people ive talked to about 9/11 since 2005 either say it was an inside job...or say it probably was.

Raise suspicions, question credibilty, create mistrust, point fingers, to malign, to demean and slander.

To cast doubt like setting off smoke bombs of obfuscation .. to hide behind. To hide the real problems, the real dangers, the real frauds.

Some gypsy woman in Newark is making money reading Tarot cards. She even has a crystal ball and a black cat and some love potions, fer chrissake! She's obviously a fraud. We have nothing better to do than to call her a fraud. Look at the paranormal fraud. She must be making .. hundreds or thousands of dollars committing fraud. We must stop her from committing fraud. We must discredit and ridicule her. We are .. skeptical of her.

Puff! Doubt is cast. Real fraud is ignored.

Skeptics regard the paranormal with the presumption that it's all some form of stage magic, some parlor trick or fraud.

That's not science. That's not an objective scientific position. That's a bias .. an agenda. And while we all may guess as to what their bias or agenda is, it seems obvious to me that they've dedicated themselves to debunking the paranormal. That's what is driving them.

Perhaps some internal need to prove that magic isn't real. Some fear that it may be real, so they need to debunk it, to comfort themselves that there are no monsters hiding under the bed.

We actually have a fortune-teller not far from where I live. Very peaceful place. Everyone who visits seems to be happy and at peace. The effect on the neighborhood is also good, people are better behaved, not like the bars. The city should pay them for their service.
