We got an offer to do our own radio show. See below.

What do you think? I've never hosted one before. Perhaps Eteponge and Victor Zammit can do one for us?

Sirs,

I have a radio network and I would love to have you guys do a show on here. I have attached what we provide, and what are broadcasting specs are. Please email me to discuss. I think it would be interesting to have the debates on the network and I look forward to speaking with you. I can provide a producer for you to get the show started and any help you will need to get SAM broadcaster set up and so on.

Btw, I asked them what the difference was between doing a show on Blogtalkradio and SRN Live. Here are the answers.

Probably the biggest thing I can find is here.
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/premium.aspx

We offer everything they offer, only ours is free across the board, we
don't for example, charge $39.00/month $399.00/year just to move from
"free" to "Host Your Show with Skype". The only thing they offer which
we don't is "Promotional Widget Impressions" which there you pay for.

Blogtalk is huge, making your show invisible (a small fish in a very
large pond) where our network YOU are a very BIG fish, in a small pond.

Getting in on the ground floor of our network as we continue to grow
means you have a foot in the door, while our show numbers increase.

Item 12 here http://www.blogtalkradio.com/termsofuse.aspx states "In
particular, if You are a copyright owner or an agent thereof and believe
that any Broadcast Blog Program or the content thereof infringes upon
your copyrights, you may submit a notification pursuant to the Digital
Millennium Copyright Act". We do not have copyright restrictions as we
pay royalties and are are fully licensed for all music through Loudcity.

And finally sound quality. Since I am a Linux user, I am not restricted
in any way, thus able to discern _actual_ truth. What I did to assess
audio quality (other than just objectively "listen" to a show); I picked
one of the "featured" shows, meaning a premium show where they pay each
month to be hosted by them, then checked it out with diagnostic tools.

Title: The Zeitgeist Movement 12/23/0 Artist: Peter Joseph
Comment: 12/23/09 The Zeitgeist Movemen Album: BlogTalkRadio.com
Year: 2009 Genre: Unknown
MPEG 2.5 layer III, 32 kbit/s, 11025 Hz mono

_Now_ I will test *our* network, which runs 24/7 playing 80's music.

Playing MPEG stream 1 of 1: srnlive.com ...
ICY-NAME: The Supernatural Radio Network
ICY-URL: http://www.SRNLive.com/
ICY-META: StreamTitle='ac-dc_ballbreaker';
MPEG 1.0 layer III, 128 kbit/s, 44100 Hz joint-stereo

The difference is quite clear and incredibly stark! We stream CD
quality _stereo_ audio (exactly matching CD specifications) while
blogtalkradio is _mono_ and of about the same quality as AM radio!

Blogtalkradio streams ONE channel mono at exactly 1/4 of OUR quality!

And finally, there's nothing that says you can't do a hi-fi show on our
network, then upload and host it on blogtalkradio as well, if you want.

One of our top shows does just that. http://ghostdivas.mypodcast.com/

We can also provide PHP/SQL webhosting of your show's website, the above
example http://www.blogtalkradio.com/peter-joseph shows they are all the
same, cookie-cutter with no originality. On our servers we can host
anything you care to create, from plain HTML to PHP/SQL dynamic websites
which provide user interaction, WITHOUT any unwanted spam banners! I
try to steer people towards the Drupal CMS, but we also host Wordpress,
which one of our top rated weekly shows uses. http://www.ghostdivas.com

Personally I'd rather have and promote a URL like http://myradioshow.com
which we provide, than one like http://www.blogtalkradio.com/myradioshow

When possible, we protect your image by grabbing the major top level
domains and configure them to forward people to your site, for example:

http://ghostdivas.net/
http://ghostdivas.org/ ... http://www.ghostdivas.com/

This prevents nefarious people from grabbing them and using them against
you -- having all the major top levels protects _your_ image from abuse!

Feel free to ask any specific questions I haven't already covered.

Please do this and include me in. I am an experienced announcer with a great radio voice. I can debate will and I am very quick on my feet and do my research well before I enter the lion's den. Please, by all means, PM me about this. I would love to help you set it up, come up with some programming and then implement it. This and the e-mag excites me a lot. Let's do it!!

Hi all,
Regarding the radio show proposal for SCEPCOP, I'm not really good at that sort
of thing, nor do I have the time to be involved in them.

So I was wondering if any of you would be interested in hosting a radio show for
us through SRNLive? You could interview any guests you want. It could be a
weekly or bi-montly thing, whichever you prefer.

One guy who said he had experience as a radio announcer expressed his interest
in hosting a show, but he hasn't followed up on it yet.

Or, if you can recommend someone, let me know.

Thanks,
Winston

I've never anything like that. Are these radio shows broadcast over the air or over the internet? I live in area where over the air is limited. If it's over the net I'd like to tune in and listen to some shows of this nature to get the feel of them - and learn something at the same time.

Hi all,
Just an update on the radio show project. I finally found someone willing to host it for us. He is an old friend of mine from Washington who runs a UFO/Paranormal club there and goes to conventions too. As such, he is very knowledgeable on UFO's and Paranormal topics, and knows a lot of well known researchers in the field. He has hosted radio in the past but it was in the old era before all the internet technology, so he has to learn all the new tech stuff first. He is currently arranging it with the SRN Live folks.

Now the thing is, I'd like to try to get him and Eteponge to host it together. But I am sure about the feasibility of having two people host a show from DIFFERENT locations. It might be kind of tricky. But I will ask the SRN Live folks about it.

Another SCEPCOP member named Tony Stubbs, who hosts an Afterlife program on BlogTalkRadio, also expressed interest. So I will see if he and my other friend can take turns doing the show for us.

Anyway, that's the update for now.

Thanks,
Vinstonas

Will this radio show be for believers or believers and skeptics alike?
