If this counts as spam, feel free to delete it.
I’d like to tell people about my latest novel, the Aquarium. It’s about a group of CIA agents who investigate a haunted aquarium. This aquarium is loaded with paranormal phenomena, including horrific monsters that have been mutated by psychic powers. Here’s the link on Amazon.com:

Technically, it counts as spam but I'm gonna leave it for a day or two and see if you come back to chat.

It was a spam but it is informational. You can learn more on it.

That's really meta - a spammer defending someone else's spam!

What does meta mean in that context? Oo
I am curious.

I get it, thank you Arouet, that was not meta.

"Dude, that's so meta. Stop before my brain explodes."

Very amusing.
But seriously, I want to check. I am writing a book, but have been here enough you do not consider me a troll or a spammer, so I can talk about that.
Posting links to other sites is permissible. It is expecting to make money from doing so, and doing that repeatedly, that makes a spammer.
Am I correct?

Spamming on a forum is when you join the forum with the primary purpose of posting a link to draw traffic to your website or to sell a product, or service, etc. It's basically just an ad.
