AOL had the rite idea frum the beginning - make it eazy. Unfortunately, they drifted away frum that gradually, probably frum hiring too many computer geeks in executive pozitionz with the 'It worked for me' attitude. Sum stuff that worked fine went away or accumulated extra steps, yet sum stuff that could hav been better refined for ergonomics were neglected.
An example, wen you go frum one screen name to another, a window pops up telling you how long youv been online, requiring you to click OK before moving on.
