While I do agree with you in general about the belittling (there is far too much of it going on in skeptics circles, from everything scientists know about belief, its not always about intelligence) you seem to be suggesting here that asking for reliable evidence is unreasonable. What would you suggest as an alternative?

The Law of the Avoided Question: Answer the question you would have liked to have been asked rather than the one that was asked. Who cares what the original question was, answer a question that you have prepared an answer for regardless (any question will do, as long as it is related to the subject… and sometimes not even then. YES much evidence for this
Can I suggest pseudoskeptics actually carry in their own heads, the template of an ideal opponent victim they desperately want to bully, which they project onto anyone they meet online. Its really pre-prepared abuse for a non existent person which they just dump at every encounter. That's why their replies are so laughably off point repeatedly
Essentially many pseudoskeptics are actually bullying an imaginary opponent constructed entirely in their own heads.
The next question is what is their great motivation to do this? Toward everyone they meet online? Clearly an internal problem of great magnitude.
Oh what could it be? Its a short list of possibilities.

spherical objects - a LOT of people would just say "told you so" and whilst it would upset those who think the whole cosmos is empty apart from this rock ,and would have to reconsider + a few skeptics would too - they might panic - but the rest of us ?? please , Joe "public" is made of sterner stuff and can realise that unless they come with guns blazing that it cant be any worse than the c**p most of us put up with now

and anyways it will only happen in America - everything only happens in America - so you lot will have to deal with it or panic as you see fit - ( i know dis cos i have seen all the films about alien invasions - disasters and the like - duh.oh )

I don’t… I tend to question everything. BUT, I have found that the majority of what the “Official Story” states, tends to be rather dead on… not in all instances, just far more so than not.
Why do you believe whatever the media/government/establishment tell you without question, and that there are no big secrets or conspiracies?
On one hand the “hush, hush” factor centers on issues of National Security and that includes keeping the masses calm. If, for instance,the truth around UFOs/Alien visitation were made official it would generate un-due panic simply because of the religious influences within our societies. Because they are “different” and not viable (according to the Bible or Koran, etc.) they must then be evil and minions of the devil… they do have greyish skin, demonic looking eyes and strange V shaped feet after all…
The general public must be spoon fed certain information and that includes some of the technology we experience, much of what we have today being 10+ years obsolete. To bring some of the “break-through” stuff “they” have would prove a bit disastrous simply because of consumers being overwhelmed and ill-prepared to work with it… even today we have senior citizens that are literally afraid of cell phones and a basic PC… some for religious reasons, most because of the technology behind them is “frightening” to their mind.
Why are you unable to assess evidence and testimonials to the contrary?
This should be “easy”… because the information being shared by said sources typically fails to hold up when scrutinized. A great example is your pet curiosity around 9/11 and the WTC; the claim that the CIA planted explosives in the buildings so as to make them collapse. But as I’ve stated demolition experts, explosive specialists and engineers have all looked at this theory and proven it to be flat out impossible when it comes to keeping it secret during the staging part of such an endeavor… the amount of C-4 and other such tech that would be required as well as the structural modifications one must do in order to create a demolition styled drop… it’s just not feasible. People would see it happening and someone would eventually question what’s going on or, because of the number of people that would be required to stage such a deception as well as the amount of time that would be required for putting everything into place… you would have leaks… scuttlebutt about things that were going on. Even professional killers have moral limits but to know that you will be murdering a couple of thousand people? I’d say you’re pushing the envelope there.
There are other cases of course; Roswell and Wright Patterson being near the top of the list along with the Lincoln and Kennedy Assassinations, Pearl Harbor (a tale that gets echoed in the WTC situation), etc. Even the whole Noah’s Ark story has multiple theories surrounding it, but that’s the catch phrase here: THEORIES and not even valid “scientific” theories such as we have with Evolution or Quantum science.
2. If you dispute that you believe #1, then please name some conspiracies/secrets that are true that the government/establishment does not tell us. And list some things that the establishment is wrong about, and why.
Keeping the whole UFO/visiting ETs is probably one of the bigger conspiracy issues that the governments of the world tend to suppress most and for multiple reasons.
There are issues within the entire WWII era but especially how the U.S. adopted numerous high ranking NAZIs including known war criminals, giving them a free pass for various reasons, with technology being at the top of the heap. BUT the other side of this coin is the suppression of the fact that the U.S. (prior to Pearl Harbor) actually had a massive NAZI movement within its own boarders and not all of it came from German immigrants. Since the war the U.S. and the U.K. have slowly adopted a good amount of NAZI based thinking; especially when it comes to controlling the masses by way of the water supply and things as innocent as toothpaste or the use of certain insecticides within given population areas where a more liberal and creative mind-set tends to be more prominent.
Psychic Research and Development Programs which have been both, denied and belittled even though there are still known Psychics working for various aspects of the government, most particularly in areas dealing with “insights” pertaining to perceived enemies; not just remote viewing but other skills as well. The government as well as academic elements deliberately suppress and/or twist the facts about said phenomena, deliberately painting those that claim such abilities or who believe in them, as being a quack, wacko, out of touch with reality, etc. But then this nation was founded on hypocrisy…
There are other situations but we’ve not the time or space to address them all.
