It's frightening, knowing that a hair-brained rumor (wannabe Urban Legend) has already surfaced around this thing... given the southern waters in which it all happened I'm doubting we'll see a Red Herring however

No, seriously, I'm wondering how many months it will take until we see "expert presentations" showing something that kindof-sortof looks like a submarine in the dark murky waters ramming the rig's peirs? Or pieces of the actual "communist" sub that have washed up on shore? Or 
Proof that the CIA planted explosives on the rig covertly over the past couple of months. . .

The one conspiracy theory I would buy into is that a bunch of environmental zealots drove nails into things (figuratively, in that this is what they do to trees) so as to cost Obama and the Republicans support for off shore drilling programs... but hey, that would work out on other fronts as well.. .like forcing Sarah Palin to come up with another type of redneck chant not to mention an actual ENERGY PROGRAM that don't leave a funky aftertaste in your ocean...
There is a very negative racially inspired "pun" out there about the oil slick... I'll not repeat it but it has something to do with recently passed laws in Arizona

It seems that the oil rig that has failed in the Gulf was built by South Korea. The claim is that a North Korean submarine dove out of Cuba. The sub torpedoed the oil platform. It did not sink as hoped. The sub then rammed the rig and set out a big explosion to damage the rig causing massive failure. The people proposing this conspiracy say that it is no coincidence that the South Korean ship jun sank, that a meeting on nonproliferation is going on, that BP was about to be commended for its great environmental efforts, and the Cubans are drilling for oil with the Russians. They claim that a small thermonuclear warhead is the only way to stop the oil leak, but that doing so will ruin nonproliferation efforts when all countries will claim a need for these warheads as a means of capping deep water oil leaks.
I think that the 9/11 crowds wackiest elements must have put their heads together to come up with this one. I can't wait to see what idiotic evidence these lunatics can come up with.
