Brett you are quite right. I often look at other countries to show evidence of false claims. Denmark is a good country to find evidence about the relationship to autism and vaccines, i.e. not happening. I point to Japan when it comes to claims of suppressed technologies to get 300 miles per gallon (crazy American units of measure). If a country which imports almost all natural resources doesn't use such a device then it is hard to believe it exists. Or look to North Korea. It's a country that doesn't care what anyone else thinks and is poor.
As far as actors go we have had many in politics: Reagan, Jesse, Arnold. There are more that are less famous here in the US. Other countries such as India also have actors moving into politics.
The question still is, "Who cares if an actor makes a statement?" I'm not going to buy the conspiracies, cars, gum, toothpaste, insurance, and other products they try to sell.
