Hello From a True Skeptic

Hello! SCEPCOP seems like an open-minded and truly rational site, so I've decided to join the board. I explored some "freethought" boards and discovered that most of the subscribers didn't seem like true freethinkers to me--they all shared the same narrow-minded worldview and repeated the same arguments over and over again. I didn't necessarily disagree with their conclusions, but I was turned off by their snarky, arrogant attitudes so much that I knew that I didn't want to associate myself with them.

I try to search for the truth without allowing my worldview to influence my conclusions, and I also change my mind depending on where the evidence leads. I currently don't believe in the paranormal, but I don't disbelieve it, either. For now, I've suspended judgement, but I am excited about exploring the possibilities!

You are very observant. Anyone can claim to be a freethinker, but not anyone can act like one. Very few are open minded and consider everything.

PS - Hey skeptics, if I am able to guess a person's gender here based on his/her posts only, with no admission of gender on their part or clues about it, would that count as a paranormal ability in your book? lol
