Project Alpha: a look back

Postby ciscop » 05 Jun 2010, 07:41

michael edwards and james randi do a lookback at the great project alpha scam
a sound victory for magicians and skeptics over the dumbness of parapsychology scientists

this is the sheep-goat effect
the sheeps will let the testees do anything
the goats (more intelligent) will cut down the possibility of trickery
For every person who reads this valuable book there are hundreds of naïve souls who would prefer to have their spines tingled by a sensational but worthless potboiler by some hack journalist of the paranormal. You who now read these sentences join a small but wiser minority. Martin Gaardner (Psychology of the Psychic)

Too bad Slim has given up on this website. He would have a field day with this. I still believe this was as an important experiment as anything done in parapsychology since.
