Oh, and a slight correction, SGT. John Burroughs was the one who was shot by a beam of light during the incident and vanished for 25 minutes. SGT. Jim Penniston, the other eyewitness, touched the strange symbols on the craft that had touched down and remain stationary awhile, and he had a "jolt" of knowledge apparently downloaded into him from the craft when he touched the symbols, and that's where he recovered that knowledge. He said the craft's computer system directly linked into the minds of the occupants, or something. And when he touched the symbols, it "linked" with him as well. He stood there and wrote down the symbols as the craft remained stationary. You can see the symbols on that page you linked.
