Thank you for the welcome
I've always tried to keep an open mind without being too much of an airhead.
Skepticism is a great tool that gives some detachment. A responsible skeptic will include their own world view as a subject of skepticism.
Dogmatic skepticism, has been a very profitable venture for James Randi and some of his followers. Like all snake oil salesmen, he provides a panacea cure, a good show and an outrageous guarantee and like all good prognosticators, he does it all in plain sight and under the scrupulous observation of skeptics. Scientific inquiry into anything beyond a reductionist, Cartesian, world view is an indirect threat to Mr. Randi's performance. It would be a truly beautiful irony if one of Mr. Randi's scholarship recipients were to go on to discover that macroscopic non-locality was a fundamental principle of life.

I think that some of us here (believers and skeptics alike) are open minded about much of the subject matter on this forum. We even have one or two here whos minds are so open, you can see straight through their skulls if you look in their ears.
I totally understand those who don't believe in things paranormal. There is no scientific proof to satisfy their personal level of thinking and that's fine. It's ok to not believe something. However it's fairly dumb to believe that something doesn't exist because there is no proof. Allow me to translate that: I don't believe much of the stuff about UFOs and aliens but I also don't believe it's totally impossible.
