Just what does an atheist and skeptic like myself get his Catholic wife for Christmas who is into homeopathy, alternative medicine, crystal healing, pet telepathy, astrology, accupuncture, yoga instructor wannabe, and is a 2nd degree Reikki practitioner?
I'm thinking about a Steam/vacuum cleaner. Any other advice?

Kinda depends on whether or not you want to get her something that will go with the interests you listed. If you do, then an assortment of both stick and cone incense is never amiss with that sort, and a nice ornate holder for each kind. Tons of varieties of incense, but sandalwood seems to always be a must, and some white sage for use with the censer generally goes over well.

If you want a grand finale gift to spring last, or a single show stopper, I'd suggest a good crystal geode. Just google the term and include "price" in the search criteria and you will find plenty of places to order online, with pictures and cost for individual specimens. The ones that make the best impression are those that show actual columnar crystals, while those that look like mineral fleece inside are bottom of the list for impressiveness. A good array of facets showing in the interior but lacking columnars is middle of the road.

prof - my advice ?? - take your good lady wife out for the day , treat her to a slap up meal in a restaurant and then just ask her where her favorite shopping area is - give her your credit card - and tell her to buy her own present ( praying she does not want a ferrari for Christmas ) _

what EVER you do DO NOT BUY HER A DOMESTIC APPLIENCE as you will either be accused of thinking she is only good for cleaning the house OR worse some sort of drudge - she may not SAY it ,but may well think it

now my first bit may SOUND like financial suicide - BUT - just explain to her that you would MUCH rather she had something she wanted .desired / could ware / was interested in , than anything YOU chose , as of course MEN are TOTALLY hopeless at shopping for females **** and she will think you wonderful ,caring and considerate **

Now Brett's suggestion might seem a bit 'unprepared' in the eyes of a woman. At least it does to me. It's the 'shopping' and the 'picking out' and the thought that can make or break a good gift. I'd say if you're going to do dinner and give her the VISA card, do it in Sedona, AZ or a nearby location that has meaning to her in a spiritual sense. She must have 'dragged you off' to some place that caters to these things in the past. Put the plane tickets or a picture of the place in a pretty, wrapped box and don't forget to include your itinerary. Even if you give her a loaded VISA (pre-payed) card to go with the trip, so as not to wind up with some Shaman sitting in your family room for New Years.

You can always use this forum for an excuse to pick her brain as well. (Provided she even knows that you are hanging out with the likes of us) Tell her that there was this discussion on reiki abilities or must have items for any of the things that she is interested in. Perhaps she will give you her opinion and a clue.

I totally agree with Brett on the housewares idea. NO, NO, NO! Never an appliance as a gift.

to me brett suggestion is the best, since is logical and rational
but women arent like that and that can get you into trouble for ¨not caring in looking for something on your own¨

maybe they went shopping one time and she admired some shoes (im sorry for the cliche) that she didnt buy at the time
