A funny thing happened today, on my way to this forum

Postby NinjaPuppy » 17 Aug 2012, 04:45

Earlier today I was standing at my Spamalamadingdong window watching some lizards feeding in the garden when I saw a reflection of a tall, thin man with no shirt pass slowly across the window. As I watched this I was thinking that the hubs has suddenly gone "stealth" as he usually makes all those old guy noises when he moves. I turned to talk to him and he wasn't there behind me. I found him still taking his shower and was no where near the Spamalamadingdong.

When he got out I asked him if he had gotten out of the shower and he said, "no". I asked him to walk behind me as I went back into position at the window and he did but he did not cast any reflection, shadow or anything in that window. Now I was REALLY intrigued as I know danged well that I saw a gray reflection of a man, plain as day walk slowly across that window. No one was outside and my house is too far from the street to see anyone of that size, from the waist up as a reflection. I hadn't moved during this sighting either so I know it wasn't me.

I can certainly say that I can understand how people can see ghosts like this. If I had a video camera shooting, it would have been great. What I think it was is a large turkey vulture flying overhead, casting a shadow on the garden.

If I see it again, I'll see if I can start a conversation with it. :D

The turkey vulture? They're here in large numbers, along with egrets, herons, wood storks, hawks, owls, osprey and even the occasional bald eagle. I have a pond in the yard with a few hundred big assed carp, bullfrogs, leopard frogs, pig frogs, tree frogs, skinks, snakes and one huge red eared slider (turtle), so they think that my backyard is a fast food drive thru. Roadkill doesn't last 10 minutes around here, no matter how large.

The shadows cast by these huge birds flying overhead can seem like a "shadow person" walking around in the house. It's more common along my back walls with large windows which is why I was pretty taken back when I saw it in the Spamalamadingdong. Shadows in the front yard windows are blocked by the roof of my front porch that is covered with a bougainvillea and a 300+ year old oak tree, covered in hanging Spanish moss. If I see a bird from the Spamalamadingdong window it's usually strolling along my front garden area rooting out snakes and toads or grabbing a quick squirrel snack out of the tree.

Of course I'm still open to this sighting being of the paranormal variety but logic first says that it's probably not. I'll be getting my ghost hunting equipment out of the closet just in case. Besides, I'm scheduled to do a ghost hunt with a group in early October at a really nice place, so I'll need to be getting ready for that anyway. Might as well dust the electronics off, change the batteries and get 'em ready for my next adventure.

Sorry Ninja, I was just hoping you'd see the naked man again and then you could verify the true source of the apparition.

Oh, him. Yeah, well... I don't spend too much time in the Spamalamadingdong. ;)

With that fast food buffet, what self respecting life form needs a Spamalamadingdong? I have also noticed the uncanny resemblence between turkey vultures and reflections of naked men (NOT) I don't know which demonstrates the minds ability to make up patterns better, Ninja, what your eyes saw, or what your mind came up with to account for it. but I would give (slightly) more credit to my eyes. (Then again, I had to reread your post twice to convince myself you were polishing elctronics, and not electrons.)
