The point of this post is that an Iranian cleric has made the claim that earthquakes are caused by women's bodies being exposed. A test of that hypothesis is being done on April 16, 2010 as explained below. If the world is destroyed by all of the breast exposing, don't bother coming back to this thread for an update. From http://www.news.com.au/technology/boobquake-determined-to-prove-cleric-wrong/story-e6frfro0-1225856787031Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi angered womens' groups around the world on Monday when he claimed that promiscuous women were responsible for literally making the earth move.
"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes,'' Sedighi said.
So now we know the person and their prediction. A cause of earthquakes can be scantily clad women. Jennifer McCreight is determined to prove him wrong.
Since launching the "Boobquake" Facebook page two days ago, she has enlisted more than 20,000 women promising to show as much cleavage as possible on Monday, April 26.
If the world doesn't then disappear into an apocalyptic fiery chasm, then Sedighi will have no option but to admit he was wrong.

Go to your favorite search engine and type in "boobquake". You may be surprised at how many entries this term turns up. From http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/date_to_quake_your_boobies_FIQBR1Cv9YAycmtx4H6nMJ Anger over Sedighi's goofy geological theory has prompted some 45,000 people online to pledge to join McCreight and take some off Monday in order to stick it to the cleavage-hating cleric. Yesterday, many New Yorkers pledged to join them by turning up their couture heat to volcanic levels.
"Science will let you know what causes an earthquake," said Carlotta Malloy, a 32-year-old lingerie- shop manager from Brooklyn. "It's science, not breasts, that contrib ute to natural disasters. It's not about women's fashion.
From http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=2939431Out of frustration, Ms. McCreight took to her blog to promote Boobquake as a way for "other female skeptics to join me and embrace the supposed supernatural power of their breasts."

I need to place a disclaimer here. I want everyone to know what I just found out. The boobquake thingy has gone crazy and is selling t-shirts. The proceeds are being split between the Red Cross and JREF.

What I find interesting is how many people are making such a huge deal over this claim when back in the 80's (and well back in time in fact) earthquakes and other such calamities were blamed on homosexuals... but then if you ever listened to the kind of music they play in bars if kind of makes sense

Well, if the earth isn't moving, maybe it's my knees that are shaking at the thought...

From http://earthquakes.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.phpClick here to see the list of all quakes 4.5 or larger in the world and 2.5 or large in the US. Sees that one off of Taiwan at 6.5 is the winner of the day. Looks like the South Sandwich Islands region is doing some shaking with 2 M5 quakes today.
