Dark Shadows 2012

Postby Twain Shakespeare » Sun May 06, 2012 2:58 am

THIS FORUM NOW OPEN FOR PREJUDICED OPINIONS.

I like Burton's work with Depp so much the only way I can stand to even think about Burton's Apes is to remember it starred Johnny Depp. I know it didn't, but that's the only way I can bear to remember that movie.

(I just read the classic horror movie thread here, so I have high hopes of having just chummed the waters.)

I was a die-hard fan of the original show but obviously Depp ain't the Barnabas of old. I think it's going to fun and I won't be too surprised if a spin-off comes about given how mad-capped Depp seems to be making the old vampire (I just wonder who'll be playing the buffed out Werewolf lad? )

Another original fan here. I may actually go to the movies to see this one.

I'd have to say that the best scene is how Hulk deals with Loki. . . I haven't laughed that hard in ages.

I've been debating this one. I have a strange attraction for Iron man! Well...probably more like I have this strange attraction for Robert Downey Jr. but the movie is one that I can watch over and over.

Oh, you can stop debating it- it's well worth seeing. It's not lifechanging or anything but just a lot of blockbustery fun with a few good laughs in there to boot.

I should have been more clear. I'm not debating watching it, I'm debating going to a theater with a bunch of noisy kids and spending $$, rather than waiting for it to hit Pay Per View and getting to watch it over again if I really like it. I find theaters too cold, too loud, too dark and the seats are never as comfortable as having myself propped up in bed with plenty of snacks like a bigassed bucket of popcorn shrimp.

One example of me not making a good movie decision was waiting for Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides to hit PPV. It wasn't around all that long, I delayed and still haven't seen the danged movie.

Oh, you'll definitely want to see this one on the big screen! If you like the comic book movie genre then its a must see.

I still have a few of those comic books from the 40s/50s/60s.

To try to get this back on topic... I also still have like a "Tiger Beat" magazine or one of those types with a full Dark Shadows spread featuring Jonathan Frid.

I got a few thousand for the Disney ones 30 years ago. My Avenger comics are pretty beat however.

By the way, if you're going to see the Avengers, make sure you stay until the credits are completely over!
