Fear Factor ep in Logan's Run- Depicts truth of our society!

Postby Scepcop » 16 Aug 2010, 16:11

Check out this episode from the TV series Logan's Run. It is so chillingly accurate in it's depiction of how our society is run by dumbing people down into slaves and robots! My God. It even mentions an "inner circle" where you get to know the whole purpose of the whole operation if you get into it. There is no question that the writers of this episode intended this "inner circle" to mean the shadow elite/secret societies that run our society. It's very obvious. Terms like "inner circle" are not accidental.

Why didn't anyone notice what the writers were telling us, just like they did in the movie "They Live"?

Here is the episode on YouTube. Watch how accurate it is about our society!

The original film "Logan's Run" as well as "Solent Green" and even novels like "Brave New World" all paint the same kind of portrait, we can see this trend going way back in history, some even suggesting that the Bible itself (at least elements of it) was one of the earliest example of this, painting Rome (before the politically oriented "corrections" were made by the Roman scribes) as the Anti-Christ... a view far more believable than the current zealot vision I'd have to say.

The Logan Run film is good. But the TV series is even better and more imaginative. Watch all 14 episodes on YouTube at the link above. See that episode "Fear Factor" I suggested though. It's really good and revealing.

If you lived in that Domed City, would you have become a "runner"?

ProfWag, would you have? lol Or would you have gone to Carousel when you were 30, since authority is always right? lol

Sorry, I'm not following this thread and have no idea what you're talking about so I'm unable to comment. Though, as I've recently stated, your opinion of me that I think authority is always right is bull$#@%.

I guess you haven't seen the Logan's Run movie. lol

Basically, in the futuristic city of the movie, everyone dies at age 30, to keep the population under control. They go into this public event called Carousel where they float up to the top and become incinerated. But they are lied to and told that they will be reborn. Some don't believe it and try to flee the city when their turn comes. They are called Runners. The Sandmen are the security force that goes after them and shoots them. In the film, one of the Sandmen becomes a Runner. His name is Logan, that's why it's called "Logan's Run".

You should see the film. It's on YouTube.

Now can you answer the question above?
