Are college fraternities a junior secret society?

I have a question.

In college, when I took marketing courses, I noticed that there was a professional marketing fraternity called Pi Sigma Epsilon that recruited marketing students aspiring to be marketing professionals.

They had secret handshakes and used candles in dark rooms in their initiation ceremonies, which looked occult-like.

I never understood why all that was necessary for a professional organization that helps you in the corporate world? Why the occult like scenes?

So I was wondering, since Michael Tsarion claims that occult symbols are used in advertising and the media as forms of social mind control and manipulation, are these professional fraternities a kind of junior secret society?

If so, if you get high up in Pi Sigma Epsilon, do you then get initiated into a higher level where they teach you these Illuminati symbols that are used in advertising, so you can carry out the Illuminati's agenda in the mass media?

How does it all connect? Is Pi Sigma Epsilon just a front to screen people out to qualify to get into the "advertising illuminati"?

Any idea?

The "value" of a college education and why it is so important to get into the "best" colleges, centers on the Fraternity NOT the education factor. Even if you are a D-average student, if you belong to the right good ole boy's club YOU WILL SUCCEED in life and unless you do something really outrageous, you'll be pretty much protected when it comes to reputation and any possible "legal" retribution a soured victim of your antics might bring about.

I've believed for many years that we go to college to learn & develop two key things; the aforementioned connections/networks and skill in how to creative lie and prove your lies as being fact. I've seen this latter element become more and more glaringly real with each passing year, especially given the abuse we've seen towards the public by lawyers and advertisers over the past 30 years... and it's escalating!

What makes the "Lie" factor even more potent is how it works within the good ole boy structure... as the members of each group help reinforce the lies told by their fellows. A prime example of this is how there is so much resistance when it comes to "correcting" known translation errors within the bible, as well as the inclusion of texts that seem to older and even referenced by the authors of the existing tome. Such isn't just a form of creative censorship, it is a means by which to usurp a more honest understanding of what was actually taught in the day, vs. what we are being lead to believe in the present.

School books of the post World War America teach that Christopher Columbus "discovered" the continent when books from the 1800s and early 1900s give credit to the Vikings and in fact, there is an extensive sense of documentation supporting the fact that trade routes existed via the Scandinavian courses of travel, in which goods from the Americas (specifically, New England, eastern Canada/Nova Scotia) were brought into Europe... including Maze/corn... all, more than a couple of centuries BEFORE the Conquering... gold seeking Italian. Columbus actually used navigation charts showing the North American mainland, that were drawn no less than 60 years prior to his journey (the original charts currently on display in some well known museum in Portugal, whose name escapes me now... it has a large Columbus display however).

The point is, Academia isn't interested in "the facts" as much as it's interested in supporting a given course of environment as well as familial influence. Even the entertainment industry is plagued by this course of thinking. Ignoring the nepotism that's so apparent take a look at who and what has the strongest sense of presence and their connection ;)

Why would the establishment want to lie about who discovered America? What good would it do to perpetuate the Columbus myth? Why do they care?

So what are the fraternities for? Why can't the students just make it on good grades and work ethic alone?

In reality, Columbus only discovered the Bahamas, but thank God he did! Not sure why the older textbooks tell of the Vikings rather than Columbus. I totally agree with the Leif Erickson story though and am quite sure he came here long before Columbus. The mainland Europeans have/had much more influence on America than the Norweigeans. Perhaps it's more glamorous in the textbooks that Columbus did, perhaps it was some inaccurate archeology from the early 20th Century, or perhaps it is because of the New World Order. Will we ever know? ;-)

The person that pointed this out to me said it had to do with Politics following WWI... as to what that means is outside my understanding. I've just found it interesting.

Western Europeans did impact things... mass murder and the conquering of several nations, usurping land (including sacred lands) and forcing the indigenous people into slavery while robbing them of their traditions, language and religion and that's before we get into the rape of the land for it's various minerals...

Leaving aside fraternities and going to the Columbus issue, I notice the the pre-WW II era was one in which individuals in a free society built entire communities with minimal help ,and I am accustomed to thinking of them as part of a northern folk-moot common law tradition that includes the Vikings.

Poul Anderson called this cultural complex PIG (People indigenous to Germania) culture. Since WW II, whatever the people have been doing, the media has been pushing a point of view in which nothing is accomplished without massive government intervention and a PT Barnum style publicity blitz to explain what they are doing (that they are looking for WMDs and have no concern about oil, for example) much like the Columbus event as compared to the Vikings

I won't say what Anderson called this complex, because I wouldn't call my worst enemy that.

By the way, I am A PIG, and a Jew, etc. "I am large, I contain multitudes!"
