I can't recall myself cheating in 8 years of university. Though I had a lot of courses that were open book anyway!

I've only known "side courses" and "work shops" when it comes to "higher education"... I'm a simple Midwestern schmuck with a High School Diploma and lot of OJT and, as I've said, related course work. Granted, I am (was, long ago) a certified counselor and I have earned "Honors" type degrees based on life achievement or, as me granny would say, crack'n the books on my own and study'n... So when it comes to "cheating" I can't see where I'm guilty... quite the contrary in fact; I'm a big ole scardy-cat when it comes to the idea of getting caught doing anything "questionable"

That said, It does get me dander up, knowing just how many folks with "degrees" did cheat in one form or another, frequently via family connections and/or ability to make contributions to such institutions and thus, allow them to graduate unfairly and without EARNED merit. . . talk about your big brother conspiracy theories... unfortunately, big money families really do look out for one another and ANYTHING can be had for a price... well placed bribe... just ask George W. Bush...

really???

i guess depends on the definition of cheating

lets suppose for me cheating means
the professor gives me a homework.. a really complicated math problem i cant resolve
there´s like 30 problems.. but there´s this one i just cant finish. so i ask a friend for the solution and he gave it to me..
that is cheating isnt?

Well if you're using that broad a definition of cheating then I suppose so. I mean, I did discuss assignments with other students. I can't recall if we were given strict instructions not to do so. And we used to edit each others papers too. if that's cheating then I suppose I did cheat, but I don't think that's really what they were getting at. I've never brought cheat notes into an exam, for example, or had someone else write a paper for me, or bought a paper off someone. I've never done anything, in other words, that if caught, I could have faced disciplinary charges, AFAIK.

So I guess, like any topic, it depends on your definition.

mmmmm.. cheating by getting notes into an exam?

yeah.. sure
i did that too but in highschool, never in college cause i could get expelled for something like that and also if you get caught you couldnt go to other countries to study.. (which i did).. so no.. ill never took that risk

there was this cool technique.. were you write everything inside the label of a gatoraade orsomething like that.. and by drinking the gatorade you could see the answers in the bottle..
