Personally, I don't trust the soothsaying ability of groundhogs. And I definitely put no truck in the weather-related prophecies of a man dressed as a rodent.
According to a Canadian encyclopedia, many of these rodent supporters claim groundhogs are accurate between 75% and 90% of the time. Another study conducted by Canadian researchers pegged the figure at closer to 37%.
Ultimately, it's dangerous to put too much trust in clairvoyant groundhogs.
