You are quoting payoff odds. Abusing math seems to be your forte.

The odds of your experiment were 1:1.

Here is another blunder in your math. The expert, i.e. a math professor, made an approximation in his math. You are being deceitful in your payoff odds by using 4 digits of precision in your answer when the approximation has less than 2 digits of precision. Even your payoff odds have a large uncertainty in them due to the approximation used by the expert.
