Paranormal Court - I am not making this up

Today, TLC announced plans to premiere PARANORMAL COURT, a one-hour program following Robert Hansen, a renowned psychic medium who steps in to help families get the answers they need because the death of a loved one has left them with questions and a lack of closure. Viewers are taken on a journey with Robert as he is called in to settle disputes and get three families the verdict that they need once and for all. PARANORMAL COURT is a one-off that will premiere Saturday, March 27th at 10PM, only on TLC.

First, a mother and daughter battle over their loved one's gold cross. Then, a close-knit group of siblings is ripped apart after one allegedly steals their dead brother's car. And finally, a mother's inability to let go of her deceased daughter strains her marriage to the breaking point. Can Robert provide these families with a resolution -- so that their loved ones may rest in peace?

It reads like Jerry Springer but half the cast is actually dead.

From what I've seen lately on TV, it seems as if most of the good writers are dead too.

That's an idea. You rely on the dead to write the script.

Apparently even the judge is dead.

Let's hope that the legal system doesn't actually give these idiots any authority to make rulings.
Weave a circle 'round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread,
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

dude! you are putting skulls into pictures.. that´s kind of weird (and COOL!)

when i was in junior high i got in trouble because a teacher saw that i drew
hitler mustaches and wrote ¨i like small children¨ in pictures of the pope (john paul)
For every person who reads this valuable book there are hundreds of naïve souls who would prefer to have their spines tingled by a sensational but worthless potboiler by some hack journalist of the paranormal. That picture makes Judy look eerily similar to the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz

But did the scarecrow have an ethereal knife in its head? I don't recall that part of the picture.

From http://www.tsweekly.com/screen/i-luv-tv/dead-peoples-court.html

The show debuts in a few days. Here is a comment from the blog.
Anyhoo, Paranormal Court stars psychic Robert Hansen who helps families settle domestic disputes—by letting their dead loved ones decide who’s right! Here’s how it works: Say a family is arguing over who gets a dead brother’s car. The psychic explains both sides of the story to the dead brother (who’s in “the afterworld,” Pizza Hut, or wherever those people hang out), and the ghost decides who gets it. Personally, I think one of the perks of being dead is ignoring your hillbilly family’s stupid arguments—but that’s just me. Anywhoop, dead brother decides who gets the car, tells the psychic, the psychic tells the family, AND GET THIS! The ghost’s decision is legally binding! HAHAHAHAHAAAA! Life is so freaking awesome!!

From http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2010/mar/27/tlc-courts-gullible-family-members-paranormal/

Former TV psychic John Edward appalled many people when he claimed to “speak” with victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In 2005, in a vulgar stunt held on the brazenly idiotic “Fox & Friends,” Edward claimed to communicate with the soul of the coma-bound woman at the center of the Terri Schiavo political firestorm.

Now “Court” returns conflict resolution and property disputes to medieval times. Let’s hope this show fails as quickly as “Past Lives,” the quickly canceled Fox drama about reincarnation detectives. If it’s a hit, we can expect only more superstition and ignorance passing as entertainment on the network formerly known as The Learning Channel.

I hope this show fails miserably, not because I don't believe in ghosts or people that can talk to them, but because this opens up the window to SO MUCH abuse, it's not even funny. It's like a circus sideshow coupled with a court TV show. I don't doubt that people like John Edward, Uri Geller, Sylvia Brown and other high-profile TV psychics may have some intuitive abilities (which isn't saying much, as the whole New Age shtick is that Everyone Has Psychic Abilities), but to say that they have the level of control to be able to chit chat with people that aren't alive anymore like they're literally across the table....yeahhhh
Hey, you there. Yes, you. Read more journal articles.

If what I say sounds like the teacher from Charlie Brown (Wah wahh woohh wuh waah), then you should try college. It's fun, and only costs you your soul and several tens of thousands of dollars. :)

Let's make directional hypotheses, test them repeatedly, replicate experiments, and publish results! Yay, science!
