"War Made Easy" - Documentary about US War Propaganda

Description: "War Made Easy" reaches into the Orwellian memory hole to expose a 50-year pattern of government deception and media spin that has dragged the United States into one war after another from Vietnam to Iraq. Narrated by actor and activist Sean Penn, the film exhumes remarkable archival footage of official distortion and exaggeration from LBJ to George W. Bush, revealing in stunning detail how the American news media have uncritically disseminated the pro-war messages of successive presidential administrations.

Interesting...I'm going to be watching it soon. Some of the problems with the media not asking the questions that they should be asking extends to esoteric subjects and skeptics, too. Then again, a certain portion of the problem has to be traced back to the dumb United States public, as well.

You will love the documentary. It does not contain any outlandish conspiracy theories, just pure obvious facts, in the media's own words too.

Yes it's a combination of things. But basically, the media's role is to "manufacture consent", as Noam Chomsky would put it. They are also owned by the corporate elite.

BTW, I also recommend the phenomenal film by Michael Tsarion "Architects of Control". Here is part one on YouTube.

Chomsky's movie is pretty good too, although it focuses on the media, not exactly the same topic.

You mean "Manufacturing Consent"? Yeah that one is a must see too. Here is the link to it on google video.

Yes, I'm an Anarchist so it's nice to see pretty much the only well-known Anarchist scholar (there are a few others, of course, but he's the only really well-known one) put out so much political stuff.

I just got finished watching the movie. I agreed with most of the points made in the movie. There were some points that I thought could have been better supported with evidence, but other parts I thought were sufficiently supported - particularly the parts that were about the media organizations getting things wrong and then not changing.
