Received Watch Tower magazine the other day

The other day, this nice intelligent guy I met in the park handed me a Watch Tower magazine about the creation of life in the universe. I don't usually take it, but I did cause he was a good friendly guy that was nice to talk to.

When I started reading it, I found that the articles in it was nicely presented and contained valid points and questions in the beginning. But then it all falls apart when they get to the "Let's see what God has to say about it" part and start quoting Bible verses, as though it were a given and universally accepted truth that the Bible is God's word and represents inerrant absolute truth. Yeah right. Everyone knows that! It's kind of an insult to my intelligence at that point. Like I'm going to just believe that that's what God says just cause you say so. Who would be that gullible? I mean, come on, you throw Bible verses around as authority and people are just supposed to believe, just like that? Doesn't make sense.

Anyway, it's a pity though, cause the Watch Tower is a nice looking magazine with good intentions.

Lots of statements begin with reasonable claims and then lead off to unfounded notions that involve taking these notions as fact. The most common of these are medical or health claims. I heard some weird ideas on how vitamin C was able to cure everything but the economy.

I didn't put it together that the Watch Tower was by the 144K group. As you point out that's a small group. That's the sort of number that would have been picked before people knew about the work of Thomas Malthus and the geometric increase of populations. It would be safer to say something like, "The answer to everything is 42 and only 1 in 42 people will be saved."

my grandmother was a jehova;s witness
and she got to be very old.. like 94 or something.. the thing is
sometimes she got sick and needed blood transfussions and because of her dumb religion
she wasnt supposed to receive them.. so the drs and our family told her that all she was getting was Vitamin;s trasfussions ..
ooh well...

last time i was approched by one of this cult members
i heard him for a while until i stopped him by asking him
SO... WHEN IS THE NEW DATE FOR THE APOCALIPSIS ACCORDING TO JEHOVA;S WITNESS... with that they stop and act like they dont understand, which i trully believe they dont, and then explain.. ooooh i guess you werent aware that your cult has predicted many times in the past the end of the world and it was never right, you didnt know that about your religion?, i guess you should start reading about your religion history before going around spreading it....
