Debunking
the Arguments of Christian Fundamentalists and Apologists
The Creationist arguments against Evolution
I realize that this article does not address the big issue
of “Creation vs. Evolution”. Even to get into that issue would require a
whole article or book of its own. While I am no expert nor am I well
versed in the "Creation vs. Evolution" debate between Christians and
secular scientists, I will say that I do not argue against the evidence of
intelligent design in the universe. Nor do I argue that Evolution didn't
happen. I am one of those with the middle position that Evolution did
happen, but that a cosmic life force had something to do with it. After all,
no Atheist or scientific materialist has ever been able to answer the question
of how something could come from nothing, or why anything even exists at
all. Also, for the Atheist to ask "If God created the world, then who created God?" is a circular philosophical
argument that gets nowhere. Such questions can not be resolved, but they
do not erase the evidence of design in creation, nor do they erase the evidence
for metaphysical consciousness. (See the links at the end of the previous
section Evolution of heaven and hell in the Bible from Zoroastrianism – Good
news for the fearful)
Nevertheless, the Christian Creationists are guilty of
using some shoddy arguments against Evolution. Here is an article below
from Scientific American which addresses 15 of those arguments.
